We are currently looking for an Engineering Workshop Technician (Instructor) to help shape and deliver an innovative Engineering curriculum. This is a truly exciting time to join the college as we are a rapidly growing department re‑designing the Engineering curriculum to offer learners the latest and best opportunities in the workshop environment.
Responsibilities
- This role will support workshop teaching staff and provide technical support for learners and apprentices across level 2 and level 3 pathways.
- You will use a range of tools to support decision making and solve non‑routine problems, help develop workshop skills and equipment to meet education and industry 4.0 standards, and contribute to the college’s engineering team and general machinery repair and maintenance to ensure health and safety compliance.
Qualifications
- Level 3 apprenticeship or T‑Level Maintenance, Installation and Repair (Mechanical) qualification (or equivalent).
- Appropriate industry experience.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
- Ability to work effectively in teams and autonomously.
- Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification; open to year‑2 engineering university students needing to complete a placement project.
