We’re looking for someone to join our team as an Accommodation Officer – Waking Nights.
This role supports students aged 16–19 living in our halls of residence during outbound night shifts, ensuring their welfare, safety and practical needs are met.
- Provide welfare, safety and practical support to our student residents
- Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the night
- Build positive relationships with young people and offer guidance when needed
- Respond to wellbeing concerns and incidents calmly and professionally
- Build rapport with residents, parents/carers, and College staff
- Support the compliance of all aspects of Health and Safety within our accommodation
Working Hours and Rotations
The role is an out‑of‑hours position, part of a 24/7 team on a flexible rota that includes weekends and bank holidays. The Waking Nights schedule is 4 nights a week across 7 days, with exact days to be discussed at interview: 2 nights 22:00 – 08:30 and 2 nights 22:15 – 08:15. Shift rotation is predominantly based at Brooksby College during term time, with occasional shifts at Loughborough College Accommodation during school holidays.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must be over 18 years of age and hold NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Maths and English (e.g., GCSE grades A‑C). They will need to apply for an enhanced DBS check, complete induction training before shift allocation, and have the right to work in the country without sponsorship. No accommodation is provided with this role.
