Overview
Are you passionate about empowering learners through access to knowledge and digital resources? We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Librarian to lead and develop our Library and Digital Information Services at Loughborough College. This role sits at the heart of supporting student success by managing our library team, developing physical and digital resources, and delivering engaging workshops that help students build vital study and digital skills. By shaping our library provision, you will play a key role in enabling independent learning and creating an inclusive environment for all.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of library staff to deliver high-quality, student-focused services.
- Develop and promote innovative digital and physical library solutions.
- Design and deliver induction activities and engaging workshops that build study and research skills.
- Work closely with curriculum teams to ensure resources meet the needs of our diverse student community.
- Manage the selection, acquisition and cataloguing of resources, including digital subscriptions.
- Ensure our study spaces remain welcoming, safe, and supportive for independent learning.
- Champion equality, diversity and inclusion in everything you do.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is
- A qualified librarian (or equivalent) with strong digital skills.
- Experienced in working with post-16 learners in an educational setting.
- Skilled in delivering engaging training and workshops.
- Knowledgeable about online resources, authentication systems, and library management systems.
- A confident communicator, highly organised, and passionate about supporting student success.
- An inspiring leader, ready to motivate and support a dedicated team.
- A minimum Level 3 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Experience in line management would be advantageous.
