We’re looking for a Lecturer in Horticulture to join our team at Loughborough College Group. The formal grounds at Brooksby are well resourced with ornamental plant displays, a wide range of plant types and many ornamental, decorative, horticultural features that are used extensively for student practicals, along with industry standard glasshouses.
Responsibilities
- Deliver across the full range of the department’s provision.
- Specific subject areas include decorative and production horticulture with emphasis on amenity and landscape, garden design, plant and soil science, and applied subjects.
- Plan and use a range of effective teaching and learning techniques.
- Deliver and develop courses.
- Maintain contact with horticultural industry professionals and organisations.
- Engage students in community projects and meaningful work experience where time allows.
Qualifications
- Well‑qualified and experienced horticulturists with a strong knowledge of plant science and nomenclature.
- Ability to teach applied subjects and to keep up‑to‑date with horticultural industry developments.
- Experience in delivering and developing courses and in maintaining industry contacts is essential.
