We are looking for a Lecturer in Animal Studies who can deliver across the full range of the department's provision, bringing innovative ideas and embedding new technologies into the learning environment. Working as part of the Animal Studies team, you will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses. The role is based on an 850‑acre countryside estate with a dedicated animal care unit that provides hands‑on experience with a range of species. Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of animal management and be able to plan and use a variety of effective teaching and learning techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners through their programme and specific qualification aims.
  • Write schemes of work, lesson plans and review plans.
  • Be flexible in the delivery of education and training.
  • Ensure completion of portfolios, coursework, own work and all other programme‑related student outputs within the scheduled scheme.

Qualifications

  • Hold a minimum of a Level 4 qualification or equivalent in a relevant area.
  • Willingness to obtain a teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if not already possessed.
  • Experience of designing and delivering vocational/academic programmes to students and/or learners.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve excellent results.
  • Effective time‑management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of dog grooming is desirable.
