The Leicestershire College is looking to recruit a Contracts & Governance Officer - Legal to join a small and friendly team led by the Contracts & Governance Manager in the Governance & Legal Services department. The role involves routine legal work including drafting and reviewing contracts for the College’s contracted provision (subcontracting-in, subcontracting-out, all commercial contracts, HE, International and Apprenticeship contracts). It also requires providing governance support, clerking governor meetings, and assisting with data protection, complaints and appeals.
Responsibilities
- Draft and review legal contracts across various domains (commercial, HE, international, apprenticeship).
- Clerking governor meetings and supporting governance processes.
- Assist with data protection compliance, complaints handling and appeal processes.
Qualifications
- Law degree (or GDL) and at least two years’ experience of legal work, including contract drafting.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Capability to work closely with staff at all levels of the College.
