We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based across our campuses (Loughborough, Stephenson, Brooksby and Ignite (Melton)). The Learning Support team are seeking to recruit Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to provide a range of high-quality support to students with identified learning difficulties and/or disabilities anytime across the working week, Monday to Friday 08:45 to 16:30.

You will support students across a range of courses from Entry level to Level 3 / A Level who have learning difficulties and disabilities. These include Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD, Hearing Impairments, Visual Impairments and Physical Impairments. The successful candidates will provide in-class support and online support to individuals and groups of students, which includes notetaking, assisting with personal care and mobility support.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • To support students in a sensitive, professional, discrete and confidential manner
  • To encourage personal and academic independence, self-empowerment and self-help skills wherever possible
  • To contribute to the development of individual learning programmes in liaison with Support Coordinators and course tutors
  • To ensure that students are receiving the appropriate level of support and report any issues to the Support Co-ordinators

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of working with young people
  • Have a sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures
  • You must possess at least a Level 2 qualification, GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • You will have a flexible and can-do approach; be committed to teamwork
  • Have a positive approach towards all students
  • Excellent communication skills that enable you to work effectively with a range of students and staff
  • Willing to travel across campuses as and when it is required

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to undertake further training where identified. This role is a term time only role working 33 weeks throughout the year and follows Further Education term times.
