Up to 37.5 hours per week. Livewell Southwest is looking for a motivated and forward‑thinking Physiotherapist to join our 6‑month rotational scheme in a variety of settings across Plymouth. This post would suit a newly qualified physio (to benefit from our preceptorship programme) or an experienced Band 5 looking to broaden their experience. The rotation is integrated with our neighbouring organisation, University Hospitals Plymouth, to provide both acute and community rotations, making the rotation a fantastic opportunity to gain a wide ranging experience of Physiotherapy services.
Employment Information
- Fixed‑term contract – 12 months
- Band 5 Salary – £31,049 to £37,796 a year pro‑rata
- Working pattern – Full‑time, Part‑time, Job share, Flexible working
- Location – 200 Mount Gould Road, Mount Gould, Plymouth, Devon, PL4 7PY
- No sponsorship under the skilled worker route – this role is not permitted for sponsorship at this time.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Gain experience in a range of clinical settings including MSK Outpatients, Urgent Care, Neurology (inpatient and outpatient), Respiratory, Intensive Care, Trauma and Orthopaedics, and Community Rehabilitation.
- Travel independently across Livewell sites and community locations, including the transport of heavy and large equipment in areas not served by public transport.
- Participate in 7‑day, evening, bank holiday, and extended hours (e.g., evenings til 8 pm) working rota.
- Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- Supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students and therapy support staff to a graduate standard.
- Contribute to in‑service training programmes, tutorials, and external courses; act as a member of professional clinical groups such as Journal Clubs and peer review groups.
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with CSP standards of practice and local/organisational policy.

- Essential – Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy, HCPC registration (may be pending if recently finished studies).
