Join and help shape the Plymouth Nutritional Risk Monitoring Service, a newly established and evolving service at Livewell Southwest, providing specialist support for individuals across the full spectrum of eating disorders, disordered eating, and ARFID. We are seeking a registered nurse with experience in mental health care RMHN or dual-registered nurse to deliver a specialist, autonomous physical health monitoring service. We are keen to build a team with a dual range of specialist skills, welcoming RMNs, dual-trained RMHNs, to bring complementary expertise. This approach ensures our team can provide holistic, person-centred care for adults with eating disorders, disordered eating, and ARFID. Combining mental health expertise with experience supporting individuals with complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new service, make independent clinical decisions, and contribute to the development of care pathways across the city. As the service expands, staff will have the opportunity to rotate across the full Adult Eating Disorders Team, gaining experience across ARFID, disordered eating, and other community pathways. Bespoke specialist training, supervision, and ongoing professional development will be provided to support your growth in this unique and impactful role.
Main duties of the job:
- Deliver physical health monitoring clinics for adults with eating disorders.
- Conduct assessments and support early identification and management of physical health risks.
- Develop individualised, collaborative care plans with the multidisciplinary team.
- Exercise autonomous clinical decision-making within the scope of the role.
- Support staff training and development in relation to physical health.
- Liaise with acute, primary, and community care colleagues to ensure seamless care.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the service, including ARFID and disordered eating community pathways.
- Participate in CPD activities, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- To receive referrals from internal services.
- Undertake assessment of patients referred to the service.
- Utilise a range of highly specialised clinical skills appropriate to the needs of individual patients and the clinical/home setting in which they are seen.
- Ability to match patient need with available skills and resources.
- Work closely with other colleagues to enhance patient experience.
- Provide skilled advice to referrers, patients, and carers.
- Following assessments provide high quality assessment reports/letters to the relevant professionals.
