Job Summary
Livewell Southwest is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine with a special interest in Stroke to join our dynamic and evolving multidisciplinary team at Mount Gould Hospital. This key leadership role offers diverse inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to service development and innovation.

What Are We Looking For
- Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register in Rehabilitation Medicine (or within 6 months of CCT)
- A collaborative, MDT-focused approach and confidence working outside acute hospital settings
- A passion for supporting people with complex rehabilitation needs
Responsibilities
- Act as Lead Clinician for the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit
- Provide cross-cover for the PlymNeuro Rehabilitation Unit
- Deliver outpatient care through clinics and domiciliary visits
- Join the baclofen pump clinic rota, interventional clinics or support the neuro-community team
- Play an active role in clinical governance across the stroke pathway
Person Specification
Experience (Essential)
- Training and wide experience in rehabilitation medicine
- Secure background general medicine experience and competency to manage on-call emergencies at senior level
- Experience working with managers to improve patient experience and service delivery
Experience (Desirable)
- Ability to manage limb spasticity with botulinum toxin injections
- Special interest or advanced experience in prosthetics, major trauma
- Knowledge and understanding of the NHS
- Evidence of service development and enacting change
- Ability to lead clinical services
Qualifications (Essential)
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register in Stroke Medicine at the time of taking up the post (Specialist Registrars applying advance must be within six months of their CCT at the point of being interviewed)
Qualifications (Desirable)
- Higher Qualification in Stroke
- Qualification in Teaching and Learning
