We're looking for a motivated and hands-on

Paint Lead to join our Body & Paint team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a manufacturing or automotive paint environment who is ready to lead by example, support a high-performing team, and help deliver world-class quality.

Working closely with the Production Supporter and Process Leader, you'll be responsible for leading a team of up to 10 people, ensuring safe working practices, maintaining production and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across the area.

This role will be a 6 month secondment / FTC.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Leading and supporting a team to achieve daily production and quality targets.
  • Promoting and maintaining a strong health and safety culture.
  • Ensuring documented processes and quality standards are consistently followed.
  • Providing clear direction, coaching and day-to-day support to team members.
  • Supporting attendance, performance and company policy processes.
  • Ensuring tooling, consumables and materials are available to keep production running.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing stock to support the production schedule.
  • Driving 5S and continuous improvement activities.
  • Responding to quality feedback and implementing corrective actions.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues while remaining hands‑on when required.

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Experience working within a manufacturing or automotive Body & Paint environment.
  • Previous experience leading or supporting a team.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and documented processes.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work under time-sensitive production targets.
  • A flexible, reliable and enthusiastic attitude with a focus on quality and safety.

Desirable

  • City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Automotive Body Repair, Paint or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of automotive paint preparation techniques and materials.
  • Experience of continuous improvement or business improvement techniques. Background within a production or assembly environment.
