As we continue to elevate our capabilities and global presence, we are seeking a Material Handling Supervisor to join our dynamic Supply team at our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Hethel.
Summary: To provide supervisory leadership, direction & development in a demanding automotive material handling operations environment, with focus on achievement of plant operational targets relating to safety, delivery, cost, and quality.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for a designated team within plant material operations, including team leaders and material handling operators.
- Plan appropriate shift/working patterns and job assignments for staff, in alignment to the supervisor’s area of work, and overall Material Handling Operations activities.
- Ensuring team is working in accordance with health and safety guidelines and policies, including material handling equipment and the movement of dangerous goods.
- Deliver results in accordance with departmental KPIs relating to safety, stock accuracy, delivery to line and availability.
- Manage absence/holiday absence reporting/planning.
- Manage performance management.
What you’ll bring:
- Ensuring the efficient and effective management of direct components from door to point of fit, including receiving, storage, picking and linefeed.
- Safe operation of material handling equipment, including forklift, tow tugs/trailers, lift stackers and powered pallet trucks.
- To ensure appropriate maintenance and execution of SAP operating system, including Logistics Execution System (LES).
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including vehicle launch preparation & material change management in the operational environment.
- Despatch of finished goods and materials to external parties.
Essential skills and experience:
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Able to use MS Office applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.
- Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role.
- Organised, flexible, attention to detail, team player, right first-time proactive approach, good communicator.
- Experience in a material handling role within a manufacturing environment.
