The Aftersales Technical Trainer is responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality technical training to the authorised dealer network across Europe. The role delivers both classroom-based theoretical training and hands-on workshop-based practical training, supporting technicians at all competency levels. In addition to delivering training, the role is accountable for creating, maintaining, and continuously improving training materials, ensuring they remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with current vehicle technologies and Aftersales priorities. Working closely with internal Technical Support Engineers, Field Service Engineers, and Regional Aftersales Managers, the role proactively identifies capability and skill gaps within the dealer network and develops targeted training and mentoring programmes to address them.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Delivery
- Deliver structured theoretical and practical technical training to dealer vehicle technicians across all competency levels, from entry-level to master technician.
- Provide training across relevant vehicle technologies, including ICE, Hybrid, and BEV platforms, in line with product strategy and market needs.
- Conduct training sessions at training centres, dealer workshops, and regional locations across Europe.
- Ensure training is delivered in a clear, engaging, and consistent manner, aligned with manufacturer standards and safety requirements.
- Training Development
- Develop, update, and maintain technical training materials, including course presentations, practical workshop exercises, technical reference documentation, and assessment and competency support materials.
- Ensure training content reflects current vehicle architecture and systems, known technical issues and repair methodologies, and feedback from Technical Support and Field Service teams.
- Continuously improve training effectiveness based on technician feedback, field experience, and performance outcomes.
- Capability Development & Mentoring
- Liaise closely with Technical Support Engineers to identify recurring issues, emerging trends, and skill gaps within the dealer network.
- Proactively design and deliver targeted training interventions to address identified gaps.
- Support the development of mentoring programmes for dealer technicians, enabling structured progression and knowledge transfer.
- Act as a technical coach and mentor where required, supporting technician development beyond formal classroom training.
- Technical Round Tables & Network Engagement
- Coordinate and support technical round table sessions across all regions in collaboration with Regional Field Service Engineers and Regional Aftersales Managers.
- Facilitate structured technical discussions focused on common technical challenges, best practice repair methodologies, and knowledge sharing across the network.
- Capture outputs and feedback from round tables to inform future training content and Aftersales strategy.
- General Responsibilities
- Act as a professional and credible technical representative of the manufacturer within the dealer network.
- Maintain accurate records of training delivery, attendance, and material updates in line with company processes.
- Work collaboratively with Aftersales, Technical Support, Engineering, Warranty, and Network teams to ensure alignment.
- Support the continuous improvement of Aftersales technical capability and repair quality across the network.
Skills and Experience
- Essential
- Proven experience as a Senior Technician, Master Technician, Technical Trainer, or equivalent within an automotive manufacturer or dealer environment.
- Strong technical knowledge across modern vehicle systems, including ICE, Hybrid, and BEV technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technicians with varying levels of experience.
- Experience delivering technical training, coaching, or mentoring in either a formal or informal setting.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple training activities across regions.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
- Desirable
- Formal qualification or certification in technical training or adult learning.
- High Voltage certification to an advanced level.
- Experience developing structured training programmes and materials.
- Previous experience working within an OEM Aftersales or technical support function.

- This role will be working on-site, full time.
- Frequent travel might be required to visit different entities. Applicants must therefore possess the ability to travel freely without restrictions.
