Location: Glossop, SK13

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week, including sleep-ins and occasional residential trips

Salary: £14.35 - £15.43 per hour, depending on experience

Sleep-In Rate: £70.50 per night (typically 6 per month)

30-35 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established and values-driven team in Glossop. You will lead by example, supporting and guiding junior staff to deliver exceptional care and experiences to young people aged 11-17 who face emotional and behavioural challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that young people's emotional, social, therapeutic, educational, and health needs are consistently met
  • Supervise and support junior colleagues, promoting high standards and consistent care delivery
  • Lead by example during shifts and contribute to a safe, structured, and homely environment
  • Engage with external professionals, schools, and families to advocate for young people and support their individual care plans
  • Take part in a variety of shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins, as well as occasional residential trips
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding protocols are followed
  • Uphold equality, inclusion, and confidentiality at all times

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a children's residential care setting is essential
  • Demonstrable experience leading shifts or supervising staff
  • Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is required
  • Ability to build trust and connection with young people, applying empathy, structure, and appropriate boundaries
  • A full UK manual driving licence is essential
  • Confidence working flexibly, including sleep-ins and overnight trips when required
