The Opportunity

Lotus Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a growing health technology consultancy that supports innovative health-tech businesses in developing commercial opportunities within the NHS. We are looking for a confident and commercially minded Sales Development Representative to support the company's growing business development function. This is not a high-volume, transactional telesales position. The role requires someone who is comfortable having professional B2B conversations, identifying and qualifying opportunities, engaging with decision-makers and generating meaningful meetings for the wider commercial team. The successful candidate does not need previous NHS or health-tech experience, but they should already have a good grounding in B2B sales, business development or lead generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out outbound B2B prospecting, identifying and engaging relevant business decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Qualify prospective opportunities through professional, consultative conversations and generate meetings for the wider business development team.
  • Follow up with prospects and maintain engagement throughout the early stages of the sales process.
  • Build and maintain an accurate sales pipeline and high-quality CRM records.
  • Support campaign preparation, outreach activity and target-account planning.
  • Work towards agreed KPIs including prospecting activity, qualified opportunities and meetings generated.
  • Provide feedback and market intelligence from prospect conversations and work closely with the wider commercial team.

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in B2B telesales, sales development, business development, lead generation, appointment setting or internal sales. You should be able to demonstrate experience speaking with business customers or decision-makers and progressing a prospect from initial contact towards a qualified opportunity or meeting.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous B2B sales, business development, lead-generation or similar commercial experience.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and proactively approaching prospective customers.
  • Experience speaking with business decision-makers and qualifying customer needs through professional conversations.
  • Experience working towards sales targets or KPIs.
  • Confident using CRM systems with good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, confident communicating by telephone and comfortable working independently.

Desirable

  • Previous B2B appointment-setting experience.
  • Experience selling professional services, technology, SaaS or other consultative B2B solutions.
  • Experience using Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive or similar CRM software.
  • Previous health-tech, digital health or NHS-facing experience.

Previous NHS or health-tech experience is not essential. The quality of the candidate's B2B sales fundamentals, communication skills and commercial mindset is more important.

What We're Looking For

This role is particularly suited to someone who understands the journey from: Prospecting → Decision-Maker Conversation → Qualification → Meeting/Opportunity → CRM & Pipeline Follow-Up. We're looking for someone who can hold a credible B2B conversation rather than simply work through a high-volume sales script. Candidates whose experience is predominantly door-to-door sales, retail sales, B2C sales or purely inbound customer service are unlikely to have the experience required for this particular position.

What's On Offer

  • £14.00 per hour plus £50 for every client meeting generated and successfully attended.
  • Flexible part-time hours – minimum 20 hours per week.
  • Hybrid working by agreement.
  • 5.6 weeks' paid holiday, pro rata and inclusive of bank holidays.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Opportunity to develop within a growing business and gain exposure to the health-tech and NHS marketplace.
