A growing digital health consultancy is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to generate and progress commercial opportunities for both the consultancy and the health-tech businesses it supports.
The role is a consultative B2B business development position that requires engaging senior stakeholders, understanding complex customer needs, building strong commercial relationships, and progressing opportunities through a structured sales pipeline. The position is remote-first with significant flexibility, but candidates based in the North West who are comfortable with face-to-face collaboration are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive outbound business development, identifying and engaging NHS decision-makers across Trusts, ICBs, PCNs, and related healthcare organisations.
- Generate, qualify, and progress commercial opportunities, building strong relationships with prospective customers and stakeholders.
- Build, manage, and maintain an accurate sales pipeline using CRM systems and track performance against commercial KPIs.
- Represent the business and its clients professionally on calls, meetings, demonstrations, and at industry events.
- Support go-to-market activity including messaging, market positioning, target-account planning, and communicating client propositions effectively.
- Provide market insight and intelligence from commercial conversations and work closely with the Founder and wider team to continuously improve commercial approaches.
About You:
We are looking for someone with a strong grounding in consultative B2B sales or business development who is comfortable taking ownership of commercial opportunities rather than simply generating leads for somebody else to progress. You should be commercially confident, credible with senior stakeholders, and able to balance independent working with regular collaboration.
Essential Experience:
- Proven B2B business development or commercially focused sales experience, including demonstrable new-business generation.
- Experience owning and progressing commercial opportunities from initial prospecting through a structured sales pipeline.
- Confident engaging senior decision-makers with strong consultative selling, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing CRM systems, sales pipelines, targets, and performance metrics.
- Strong organisation and self-management skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
- Willing and able to attend face-to-face meetings and travel when required.
Desirable Experience:
- Digital health, health-tech, SaaS, technology, or NHS-facing commercial experience.
- Understanding of NHS structures, procurement, adoption, or innovation pathways.
- Experience using HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms.
- Experience working commercially with founders, start-ups, or scaling businesses.
Previous NHS or health-tech experience is advantageous rather than essential. Strong consultative B2B sales fundamentals, commercial credibility, and the ability to quickly understand a complex market are equally important.
What's On Offer:
- £35,000–£45,000 base salary plus £10,000–£15,000 OTE.
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Flexible, remote-first working with face-to-face collaboration and occasional UK/European travel.
- Exposure to innovative digital health products and senior NHS stakeholders.
- Clear progression opportunities within a growing, collaborative, and purpose-driven business.
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
