Your Opportunity: We are a small, supportive children's residential home based in Bacup, providing high-quality, trauma-informed care to young people. We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Waking Night Support Worker to join our close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career in residential childcare within a nurturing and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing and stable environment for young people throughout the night
  • Monitor and respond to the physical, emotional and behavioural needs of the children in your care
  • Respond appropriately to incidents or disturbances and escalate where necessary
  • Complete nightly health and safety checks
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and homely environment
  • Carry out administrative duties, maintain accurate records and complete handovers for the day team
  • Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures at all times
  • Accurately record and report observations and incidents

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Empathy, patience and resilience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate written records
  • Flexibility to work a 3 on / 3 off shift pattern, covering waking nights from 8:00pm to 8:30am
  • Previous experience in a residential care setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
