We are working with a well-regarded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Lewisham that is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis.
This rewarding role involves supporting secondary-aged students who have faced barriers to mainstream education and require additional support to achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Challenging behaviour
- Trauma-related needs
- Additional learning needs
The successful candidate will create engaging lessons, build positive relationships, and help students re-engage with education in a supportive and structured environment.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
- Experience teaching students with SEN, SEMH, or within alternative provisions is highly desirable
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable young people
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Commitment to improving outcomes for students with complex needs
