A welcoming and well-established secondary school in Westminster is seeking an experienced and organised School Finance Assistant to join its busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with previous school-based experience and strong knowledge of Arbor (Advantage not essential) to play a key role in supporting the school's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase orders, invoices and payments
  • Managing supplier accounts and resolving queries
  • Supporting budget monitoring and financial reporting
  • Reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Assisting with income collection and banking procedures
  • Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes
  • Maintaining financial records in line with school policies and procedures
  • Providing administrative support to the School Business Manager and finance team

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a school finance environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Arbor preferred but any School system experience will be considered
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of financial processes and procedures
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Desirable

  • Experience within a secondary school setting
  • Knowledge of education funding and budgeting processes
  • AAT qualification or equivalent finance experience
