Responsibilities

  • Supervise a designated team within plant material operations, including team leaders and material handling operators.
  • Plan shift patterns and job assignments to support the supervisor’s area of work and overall material handling operations.
  • Ensure team compliance with health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of equipment and dangerous goods.
  • Deliver results aligned with departmental KPIs covering safety, stock accuracy, line delivery, and availability.
  • Manage absence and holiday reporting and planning.
  • Oversee performance management for team members.
  • Effectively manage components from door to point of fit, encompassing receiving, storage, picking, and linefeed.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely, including forklift, tow tugs/trailers, lift stackers, and powered pallet trucks.
  • Maintain and operate SAP systems, including the Logistics Execution System (LES).
  • Support new product introduction activities and material change management during vehicle launch preparation.
  • Handle despatch of finished goods and materials to external parties.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience in material handling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Organised, flexible, detail-oriented, proactive, and excellent communicator.
  • Eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
