Responsibilities
- Supervise a designated team within plant material operations, including team leaders and material handling operators.
- Plan shift patterns and job assignments to support the supervisor’s area of work and overall material handling operations.
- Ensure team compliance with health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of equipment and dangerous goods.
- Deliver results aligned with departmental KPIs covering safety, stock accuracy, line delivery, and availability.
- Manage absence and holiday reporting and planning.
- Oversee performance management for team members.
- Effectively manage components from door to point of fit, encompassing receiving, storage, picking, and linefeed.
- Operate material handling equipment safely, including forklift, tow tugs/trailers, lift stackers, and powered pallet trucks.
- Maintain and operate SAP systems, including the Logistics Execution System (LES).
- Support new product introduction activities and material change management during vehicle launch preparation.
- Handle despatch of finished goods and materials to external parties.
Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in material handling within a manufacturing environment.
- Organised, flexible, detail-oriented, proactive, and excellent communicator.
- Eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
