Overview: The Business Controller - Lotus UK role acts as finance business partner to the UK Sales Office. The role is based in St Albans and while reporting into the Finance Director Natural Foods UK, will work very closely with the Finance Director SOF Europe, along with both teams. Close alignment with the G/L, and AP/AR teams is required to ensure the quality and precision of our results. As the Business Controller - Lotus UK, you will:
- Business Partnering: Act as the finance business partner, managing and driving various projects and providing ad-hoc analysis on commercial and other cases. Be the first point of contact to support the business and closely monitor and improve profitability and efficiencies, both on a commercial and on an OPEX level.
- Planning, budgeting & forecasting: Challenge & translate commercial volume forecasts to sales, costs and EBIT two times per year in a recurring cycle; setting targets during one of the two cycles. Template & process owner of planning, budgeting & forecast process for Lotus UK. Ad-hoc forecast updates and simulations depending on business needs.
- Monthly Closing: Ensure timely and accurate closing on a monthly basis of all accounts, including all necessary accruals and prepayments. Template & process owner of commercial reporting, incl continuous improvement. Provide input in the monthly report that is distributed to ExCo. Ensure accuracy of both P&L and B/S.
- Pricing, Costing & Profitability Management: Ensure provisions for rebates & discounts are created, followed-up and corrected frequently. Ensure reported margins are analyzed and improved where needed. Template & process owner of Sales Office master data, pricing of specific products. Identify cost drivers and ensure long term cost improvements.
- Other: Prepare business reviews for senior management. Support with audit queries. Support SAP implementation: testing.

- Experience and specific knowledge: Experience from a similar controller position working in a commercial environment. Qualified accountant. Academic education within a business / finance / economics. High proficiency in MS Excel & Powerpoint, experience from using SAP and MS Office. Fluent in English.
- Personal skills: Excellent analytical skill and logical reasoning. Strong ability to present your analyses and actions in an understandable way. Manages pressured situations well. Structured with the ability to prioritize among your work. Strong drive to achieve results. Strong relationship building and stakeholder management qualities.
