The Opportunity
Having quickly grown to be the UK's no. 1 care marketplace and operating software, Lottie is looking to make its first Strategic Finance hire. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role sitting at the heart of commercial decision-making — you'll report directly to the Finance Director and work closely with the CEO on everything from board preparation to fundraising and M&A.
This isn't a traditional finance role. You'll be the strategic finance partner to leadership, helping shape how the business evaluates opportunities, allocates resource, and drives performance. You'll build the function from the ground up — the models, the frameworks, the reporting infrastructure — and have a direct line to the decisions that matter most.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Own the strategy planning, forecasting and reporting processes, providing clear and actionable insights that shape strategic and commercial decisions and drive accountability.
- Business Partnering: Become the trusted finance partner to leadership, the commercial and product team. Support investment decisions, preparation for board meetings, new market analysis and unit economics optimisation.
- Commercial & Unit Economics: Lead analysis on pricing, unit economics and cost optimisation initiatives across the business.
- External & Strategic Matters: Lead and/or support the CEO on external matters such as: board meeting preparation, fundraising, investor relations, and M&A activity.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience, ideally with some combination of strategy consulting and in-house finance or commercial roles — though we're open on the exact mix.
- A commercially sharp operator who has owned end-to-end business planning, forecasting, and performance management - with a proven ability to set ambitious targets and drive accountability across the organisation.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and executional levels - a hands-on in the detail leader who thrives in high-pressure, high-autonomy settings.
- Display strong analytical and modelling skills with deep understanding of revenue dynamics, relevant business metrics and financial statements.
- Demonstrate strong business partnering skills, with the ability to challenge department heads and earn their trust.
- Problem solver and intensely outcome-driven, with a bias toward action, disciplined execution, and continuous performance improvement.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and align senior stakeholders around shared objectives and priorities.
- A clear, confident communicator with high emotional intelligence and the ability to influence effectively at all levels, including the executive team and board.
- Value autonomy, with the ability to drive impactful improvements independently.
- You’re confident in data analysis (SQL, building out dashboards, etc.).
Sound like you but not quite 100%? Apply anyway - we're looking for potential and passion, not perfect CV match.
Not the right fit
- Aren’t passionate about elevating later life for everybody – our mission is at the heart of everything we do.
- Prefer a highly structured environment with pre-defined solutions; we thrive on autonomy and proactive problem-solving.
- Aren’t comfortable handling large data sets and using data to drive actionable insights.
- Don’t enjoy collaborating closely with other teams like Commercial, Marketing and Data Analytics.
Interview Process
- First round interview led by Hiring Manager.
- Technical assessment interview with Hiring Manager and one member of Lottie’s Senior Management Team.
- Final interview with Will Donnelly (Lottie’s Co-Founder & CEO).
Candidate Experience: The majority of feedback will be given via email and we try our very best to give specific and constructive feedback where possible.
We want to create an inclusive environment that celebrates the diversity of our people whilst enabling them to do the best work of their careers. We are committed to ensuring that all our people processes are equitable.
