The predicted salary is between 15 - 16 £ per hour.

We are looking for energetic, reliable, caring individuals to assist our 16‑year‑old son who has Down’s Syndrome & ASD. He needs carers to take him out and about in the community to activities he enjoys and to engage with him when at home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the son with Down’s Syndrome & ASD out and about in the community to activities he enjoys.
  • Engage with him when at home.
  • Provide support during visits to the National Museum, the Cinema, swimming and other activities as required.

Working Hours

The hours will usually be on weekends with more hours available in school holidays (Tues/Wed/Thurs particularly). Overnight shifts are also available. Example timings: Saturday mornings 9.30/10am – 1.30/2pm, occasional Friday afternoons 2:00-4pm. Offer is for 4–6 hours per week at a minimum.

Pay & Benefits

Rate: £15.87 per hour.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience of working with or caring for a person with learning disabilities, Autism and/or complex needs is required. Experience of working with children is essential – applicants with no experience will not be considered. Applicants must be PVG scheme members or willing to join the scheme. References will be required.
