We are looking for a Shift Mechanic to join our Engineering Team at Lothian Country. In this role, you'll carry out maintenance and diagnostic work on a range of vehicles, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. We are looking for both time-served PSV / HGV Mechanics, or we have a number of recent joiners from car mechanic backgrounds who we've trained on-site, so don't be put off if you haven't worked on buses, trucks, or HGVs before. Experience with hydraulic or air braking systems is a bonus, not a requirement.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs in line with Lothian and DVSA standards.
- Diagnose and rectify a range of vehicle faults.
- Attend vehicle breakdowns when required.
- Liaise with the parts department to source components.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.
- Complete all paperwork and inspection sheets accurately and on time.
- Keep up to date with product knowledge and attend training as required.
Shift Pattern: 4 days over 7. Includes evenings and weekends.
What We're Looking For:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Qualified, time-served motor vehicle Mechanic.
- A PCV licence is desirable (or willingness to obtain one while in post).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours when required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience in the bus or truck industry is advantageous.
- Suitable for candidates with backgrounds as a Car Mechanic, Vehicle Technician, PSV Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, Bus Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or Plant Mechanic, including those looking to move from car servicing into commercial vehicles.
