We are looking for a General Assistant to join our busy Engineering Team in one of our City garages, helping take care of our workshop facilities through cleaning and maintenance duties while ensuring a safe and clean workshop environment is achieved! This is a permanent role paying £14.94 per hour. You will be working 38 hours per week, 5 days over 7.

What do we do?

Engineering plays a critical part in helping us to provide a safe and reliable bus service for our customers. Our dedicated and highly skilled team of engineers ensure our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and are regularly checked by DVSA and other regulatory bodies. We are proud to carry out all of our own maintenance and repairs onsite at our main garages across the city.

What will you be doing?

  • Undertake a broad range of duties in order to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the Engineering premises
  • Fully comply with all Health and Safety and Engineering legislation along with group policies
  • Assist Supervisors and Managers with all adhoc requirements
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management
  • Maintain and develop technical skills as required

Who are we looking for?

  • You must possess a full UK driving licence
  • A PCV licence is desirable, however the ability to obtain a PCV licence whilst in our employment is essential
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good work ethic and attention to detail
  • Previous general assistant experience is desirable however not essential.
