Overview
We are looking for an Assistant Manager who will support the home Manager and Deputy Manager in the running of the home and work in a direct care capacity on a day-to-day basis. Ensuring the home is operating to a high standard, including maintaining adequate staffing and implementation of staff training.

Contract Hours: 40 hours (Alternate weekends)

Responsibilities
- To assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in the running of the home in an efficient and caring manner.
- Be responsible for the supervision of staff.
- Work in a direct care capacity on a day-to-day basis.
- To be directly responsible to the Home Manager, or their appointed representative in respect of all duties performed. Subject to the terms and conditions of the contract of employment.
- In the absence of the Manager/Deputy Manager, assume duties to ensure the home operates to a high standard and remains acceptable to the proprietors, the Local Authority, Social Services and the Fire Prevention Officer.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate training for staff.
- Have designated responsibility for the ordering, recording, administration and disposal of the home’s medication system.
- Assist with maintaining adequate staffing levels and the correct mix of staff.
Essential Skills, Characteristics And Experience
- Must hold at least an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience in dementia care.
