The Role
As Sushi Demi Chef de Partie, you will work closely with the Sushi Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and wider kitchen team to support the smooth running of the sushi section. This role is ideal for a passionate and ambitious chef looking to develop their skills and progress within a fast‑growing restaurant group.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sushi section during service, ensuring consistency and quality
- Assist in preparing sushi, sashimi, and other raw dishes to brand standards
- Maintain organisation and mise en place on your section
- Uphold strict food hygiene, health & safety and HACCP standards
- Ensure proper handling and storage of fish and seafood
- Assist with stock control and minimise waste
- Work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume kitchen environment
- Learn from senior chefs and actively develop your skills
- Contribute positively to a strong team culture
Requirements & Skills
- Previous experience as a Demi Chef de Partie or Commis Chef in a high‑quality kitchen
- Basic knowledge or strong interest in sushi and Japanese cuisine
- Good knife skills and willingness to learn fish preparation
- Passion for cooking with strong attention to detail
- Good organisation and ability to work under pressure
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude
