A leading higher education institution is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a major cloud infrastructure transformation programme.
This strategic initiative will modernise core hosting, virtualisation, automation, and orchestration capabilities across a complex enterprise environment.
This role will be responsible for delivering a large-scale cloud vision programme, overseeing the selection, implementation, migration, and operational transition of next‑generation infrastructure platforms.
Working alongside senior technology leaders, architects, engineers, and third‑party suppliers, you will play a key role in shaping the future infrastructure landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a complex cloud transformation programme from vendor selection through to implementation and service transition.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans covering procurement, platform evaluation, proof of concepts, implementation, migration planning, and automation rollout.
- Ensure alignment with wider cloud and infrastructure strategies.
- Manage project scope, timelines, dependencies, budgets, risks, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
- Establish robust governance, reporting, and delivery frameworks.
- Strong track record in virtualisation platform migrations or VMware replacement initiatives.
- Experience Integrating public and private, cloud projects.
- Extensive experience working in an Agile/SAFe environment
- Cloud architecture and infrastructure services (Iaa S/Paa S)
- Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Ia C)
- CI/CD
- Experience working in the Higher Education Sector
