Having placed yet another great person into their team, Lorien are once again working with a multi-award-winning and dedicated Engineering consultancy enjoying ongoing success and expansions across their UK bases. On the back of a hike in business demand and a consistent stream of repeat business from very happy clients, they are now looking to grow their Engineering function and bring on new talent in the shape of a couple of Senior/Mid level Structural Project Engineers.

You’ll join a supportive and passionate team of like-minded characters (who will invest in your upskilling), collaborate with them on exciting new work pipelines, and benefit from a steady workflow of new challenges to tackle along the way. This firm has already proven themselves to be great at helping talented people reach their potential time and time again, and in return for your efforts they are happy to offer not only competitive salaries, but flexible hybrid working (to the tune of 3 days in, 2 days WFH per week), ongoing progression pathways, chances to dabble in new areas of engineering as you work, sponsored and supported internal/external training opportunities (with upskilling being a core part of the firm’s culture), and plenty of brilliant people to work with, too.

Outline of the role:

  • Work with a wider team of engineering specialists to run projects for key (and often repeat) clients.
  • Crafting structural engineering solutions and working closely with members from other engineering disciplines to coordinate the successful delivery of each project.
  • Enjoy a varied pipeline ready to go from day one, and see your efforts drive the delivery of a number of exciting ventures while ensuring high quality.
  • Play a key role in communications with clients, ensuring they are kept up to date and feel heard.
  • Manage and review documents and drawings to ensure quality and compliance as well as meet client requirements/expectations.

The skills/knowledge you’ll bring:

  • Proven background in Structural Engineering design and relevant software, covering steel/concrete/timber/etc.
  • Willingness to learn and work towards chartership (or other qualifications/etc. if chartership already achieved).
  • Ability to take the reins on projects both for new builds and updates to existing structures.
  • Ideally previous dealings in team leadership, mentoring junior staff and reviewing work.
  • Ability to assess buildings and prepare SERs/calculation packages.
