Job Title: Storage Engineer (Virtualised Cloud)
Location: Remote working travel to Coventry on average one or two days a fortnight.
Salary: Circa £52,000 with some flexibility for right experience

About the Role:
As an On-Prem Cloud Storage Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the company’s cloud infrastructure. Joining a well-established cloud support team, you will contribute technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and problems. You will work independently on technical tasks, such as patching, storage allocation, backup configuration, and maintaining scripts, while escalating complex issues to senior engineers when necessary.
This position offers the chance to collaborate with a team of 11 cloud specialists and participate in shared out-of-hours call work, compensated at 1.5–3 times the standard pay rate depending on timing. Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and configuration of enterprise flash and hybrid storage systems
- Management of clustered file systems and storage virtualisation platforms
- Maintenance of SAN fabrics and encryption key management systems
- Utilisation of virtual storage monitoring, automation, and analytics tools
- Troubleshooting production service incidents and contributing to process improvements
- Ideally you will have IBM Flash and Spectrum skills but experience with on-premise cloud storage platforms such as Pure Storage, NetApp AFF, Dell PowerStore, or HPE Nimble will be a great foundation for them to develop on.
- Familiarity with software-defined storage or clustered file systems like Red Hat Ceph, Nutanix, or VMware vSAN
- Proficiency in Linux command-line technologies
- Understanding of SAN fabrics and virtualisation architecture
- Exposure to IBM Flash Systems or Spectrum Scale (training provided on this from day one)
- Experience with VMware products, AWS server administration, and Cisco UCS infrastructure
- Knowledge of Agile delivery environments and automation tooling
