Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Havant / Perth / Scotland)

Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Firewall Engineer to join a major insourcing transformation programme, bringing network security capability back in-house from an outsourced provider. This is a hands-on role focused on Check Point firewall technologies, supporting discovery, documentation, and transition, before moving into BAU support and service ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform discovery and documentation of the existing firewall estate
- Support the insourcing transition from third-party providers
- Provide BAU firewall support (incidents, changes, improvements)
- Configure and manage Check Point firewalls (physical, virtual, cloud)
- Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to stabilise and optimise services
Skills & Experience
- Strong Check Point firewall expertise (policy management, support, upgrades)
- Solid networking fundamentals (routing, switching, troubleshooting)
- Experience supporting enterprise firewall environments
- Comfortable working in transition/transformation programmes
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
Tech Environment
- Check Point (core strategic platform)
- Exposure to Fortinet, Cisco, and cloud-native firewalls
