We are working with a well-known London-based insurer with a strong reputation in the specialty insurance and reinsurance market. As part of continued growth, they are seeking a Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager to join their finance team.

As the Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager, you will play a key role in managing tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions while supporting the broader tax reporting and governance framework. You will work closely with finance, actuarial, and external advisors to ensure the business meets its tax obligations accurately and on time, while also contributing to process improvements and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage UK corporate tax compliance, including preparation and review of tax returns and computations
  • Oversee international tax compliance with support from external advisors
  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax reporting, including IFRS or UK GAAP provisions
  • Ensure accurate tax accounting, including deferred tax calculations and disclosures
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather financial and operational data
  • Maintain relationships with external auditors, HMRC, and advisors
  • Support transfer pricing documentation and governance
  • Contribute to tax risk management and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members where applicable

Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in corporate tax compliance and reporting
  • Background in insurance, financial services, or a complex multinational environment preferred
  • Excellent understanding of UK tax legislation and reporting standards
  • Experience with international tax exposure
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders effectively
  • Confident communicator, able to explain technical concepts clearly

Desirable

  • Experience within the insurance sector, including Solvency II considerations
  • Exposure to US GAAP or other multinational reporting frameworks
  • Experience improving tax processes or implementing systems
