We are partnering with a leading Lloyd’s of London market insurer to hire a Senior Underwriting Operations Specialist within their FinPro division. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Underwriting Assistant (or similar) looking to step into a broader, more strategic role. You’ll act as a key link between underwriting and operations, ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of complex risks while driving improvements across processes, data quality, and reporting.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, you’ll also take ownership of projects, support team development, and deputise where required — offering real visibility and progression potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex bookings, queries, and transactional activity across FinPro business
  • Oversee lineslips and binders, including EPI vs signed premium reviews and adjustments
  • Ensure accurate processing within underwriting systems (e.g. Genius / IRIS)
  • Maintain renewal trackers and ensure timely follow-ups with underwriting teams
  • Review exceptions reporting, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement
  • Ensure EPI and policy data is accurate and up to date across systems
  • Capture and escalate data quality issues (internal teams and offshore partners)
  • Support delivery and monitoring of SLAs and KPIs
  • Partner closely with Credit Control to resolve aged debt and unallocated cash
  • Support resolution of top debt cases, liaising with brokers and underwriters
  • Identify recurring issues and implement solutions with key stakeholders
  • Act as a key contact for underwriters, brokers, and internal teams
  • Attend business unit meetings and deputise for the Operations Manager when required
  • Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of junior team members
  • Deliver training to offshore teams and broader support functions
  • Drive efficiencies and improvements across underwriting support processes
  • Support audit activity and maintain strong documentation standards
  • Contribute to operational projects and broader team initiatives
Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience as a Senior Underwriting Assistant (or similar) within the London / Lloyd’s Market
  • Proven exposure to complex risks, binders, and underwriting processes
  • Experience with systems such as Genius and/or IRIS highly desirable
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on improvement and delivery
