Lorien's leading banking client is looking for an e Rates Application Support professional to provide functional and technical support across a complex Front Office trading environment.
The role will focus primarily on Rates and Repo products, supporting business-critical trading applications and ensuring the stability, availability and performance of the end-to-end application landscape.
The successful candidate will combine strong financial markets/product knowledge with hands-on technical capability and will act as a key bridge between Front Office users, technology teams and other stakeholders.
This role is based in London.
This role will be Via Umbrella.
Working in a Hybrid Model of 2-3 days a week on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide functional and technical application support for Front Office Rates and Repo trading applications.
- Manage production incidents and problems, performing investigation, root-cause analysis and coordinating resolution.
- Support complex end-to-end application chains, understanding upstream/downstream dependencies and business impact.
- Work closely with Traders, Front Office users, developers, infrastructure teams and senior stakeholders.
- Use SQL to investigate data, troubleshoot issues and analyse application behaviour.
- Support applications across Unix, Linux and Windows environments, including web application servers and portals.
- Utilise basic scripting, ideally Python, for troubleshooting and automation.
- Support change and release management, ensuring controlled implementation into production.
- Translate technical issues into clear business language and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve application stability, resilience and support processes.
- Contribute to projects and application enhancements, delivering within agreed time, quality and budget constraints.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Application/Production Support, predominantly within a Front Office Trading environment.
- Good financial markets knowledge with a strong understanding of Rates and Repo products.
- Experience supporting business-critical trading applications and understanding their impact on Front Office operations.
- Strong incident, problem and root-cause management experience.
- Good knowledge of Unix, Linux and Windows systems.
- Strong SQL skills, including query writing, troubleshooting and data analysis.
- Basic scripting capability, ideally Python.
- Knowledge of web application servers and portals.
- Strong understanding of production, change and release management processes.
- Experience supporting complex functionality and end-to-end application architectures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively from junior through to senior level.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently within a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Experience contributing to or managing projects and delivering within time, quality and budget constraints.
- Fluent English.
