One of Lorien’s leading Public Sector clients is looking for a Development Team Lead to join their team, specifically they are looking for someone with experience of leading a development team. This role is based in Glasgow and ideally will be looking for candidates who can come on site from time to time.
The Development Team Lead is required to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and delivery capability to an established team with a pressing need to rapidly build upon a customer account in order to meet legislative needs and deliver organisational cost reduction and modernisation objectives.
Specifically, you will have experience of working with Service Oriented Architectures developed with Java and Spring Boot, who is passionate about working in agile environments and has strong knowledge of both modern AWS and development good practices.
As a Development Team Lead, you will work in collaboration with the Engineering Lead, Lead Architect, and Security Manager to ensure alignment to existing patterns, controls, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Experience of working with, building, and modernisation of Java and Spring Boot based microservices
- Experience of working with public cloud technologies (for this role, we require AWS specifically)
- Experience of TDD and Unit-Test tooling
- Experience of acting in a position of seniority within engineering teams within organisation projects to deliver/enhance public facing services
- Demonstrable experience in mentoring and conducting knowledge transfer to junior permanent in-house staff
- Experience of working with Terraform scripts
- Experience of working with TypeScript
- Experience of working with AuroraDB or MySQL
- Experience with Linux based shell scripting
- Experience with Government security control requirements
