The Opportunity
We are looking for a detail-oriented Reinsurance Cash & Settlements Analyst to join a busy Reinsurance Operations team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This role plays a key part in supporting the operational management of outwards reinsurance activities, ensuring the accurate processing of cash transactions, reconciliations, reporting and broker settlements.
Working closely with Finance, Claims, Underwriting and Operations teams, you will help maintain the smooth running of critical reinsurance processes while contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile broker statements and internal contract records to financial ledgers.
- Accurately post, allocate and process daily cash transactions using internal systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Perform reconciliations to support monthly reporting and financial controls.
- Process payments accurately and in accordance with internal procedures.
- Support month-end and quarter-end activities, ensuring deadlines are achieved.
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Claims, Underwriting and Operations teams.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of procedure guides and process documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide support for ad hoc operational and cash management activities as required.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, compliance and internal control requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within insurance, reinsurance, finance operations, cash management or settlements.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Interest in leveraging technology and automation tools to improve processes and efficiency.
- London Market insurance experience.
- Experience of cash allocation, broker accounting, settlements or financial reconciliations within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
