The Role: As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for the build, deployment, administration and ongoing support of the NDH(D) platform. Working within a collaborative delivery team, you'll help ensure a high-quality, resilient service while supporting both project delivery and live operational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, deploy and support enterprise infrastructure platforms.
- Deliver day-to-day administration and support of hosted environments.
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for deployed infrastructure services.
- Administer VMware-hosted services and virtualised environments.
- Support Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
- Maintain and update technical documentation.
- Manage asset logistics and work closely with suppliers.
- Support ITIL-aligned change management processes.
- Collaborate with technical teams to deliver infrastructure services across Royal Navy environments.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience administering VMware VCF-hosted services.
- Knowledge of VMware vCenter 7.0+.
- Experience with Dell server hardware and iDRAC.
- Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022 administration.
- Active Directory administration experience.
- Experience maintaining technical documentation.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience providing 2nd and 3rd line infrastructure support.
- Understanding of ITIL change management processes.
- Ability to work in a flexible, agile environment and manage workload independently.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Active SC Clearance.
- Experience with Remedy.
- Experience supporting IT services within complex operational environments.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Eligibility and willingness to undergo DV Clearance.
Qualifications:
- ITIL Foundation.
- Microsoft MCSA (preferred).
- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Administrator Certification (desirable).
