Job Type: Permanent
Location: 2 Days a Week in Manchester M2 4JG

As a .NET Developer, you will:
- Work in a team to build and improve software systems
- Focus mainly on backend development (C# / .NET)
- Help design and deliver features from development to production
- Connect front-end apps (web) with backend systems and third-party services
- Write clean, reusable, high-quality code
- Help set up and improve CI/CD pipelines (automated deployment)
Requirements:
- Strong C# / .NET experience
- Knowledge of software architecture (N-tier, SOA)
- Good understanding of OOP (Object-Oriented Programming)
- Experience building APIs / services
- SQL + NoSQL databases
- Work in Agile teams
You will join one of our agile teams and be responsible for implementing sections of functionality or making updates to existing features, ensuring they are delivered on time with the correct approach and to the standards defined by the Lead Developers.
Our tech stack includes some of the latest design patterns and tools as well as established tech that needs additional features building on. For example, SQL, NoSQL, caching services, messaging services, C# Windows Services, WebAPI, WCF, WPF, Winforms, Microsoft Orleans… all used to build a platform that has integration to internal and external services.
Responsibilities include:
- Working on the integration of web front ends with back-end services and third-party systems
- Applying software development best practices, architectures and patterns in collaboration with other developers and QA
- Collaborating with the platform engineering team developing a true CI/CD process
- Ensuring everything you write is testable, whether this be unit, integration, UI or performance tests
Additional qualifications:
- Significant commercial experience in .NET with C#
- Demonstrable experience of building Web Services, WebAPI and WCF
- Database experience, working with both SQL and NoSQL
- Expertise in performance optimization
- Experience working in an Agile or Kanban environment
- Knowledge of software and application design and architecture
- Experience in the gaming industry is a significant advantage
