This role is with a growing digital product team that’s shifting from project-based work to building their own products. They’re looking for a strong .NET backend-focused Tech Lead who can also work across the full stack when needed. It’s a very hands-on role - you’ll be involved in coding, reviewing PRs, and also leading developers and interacting with clients.

The environment is quite fast-paced - you’d be handling multiple projects at once, including large website builds, product development, and API integrations. So they need someone who is comfortable managing a bit of chaos and context switching.

Tech stack includes C#, .NET, Azure, and API integrations, with some frontend exposure like React being a plus. The team is relatively small right now, around 6–7 people, and growing quickly as demand for their products increases.

The interview process is simple - just two rounds, no coding test or homework.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience leading technical delivery within a digital agency or consultancy environment.
  • A solid backend background in C# / ASP.NET Core, with full stack awareness.
  • Experience across both frontend and backend challenges - reactive frameworks experience welcome.
  • Deep familiarity with Azure, including CI/CD and Azure Devops.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders and deliver under pressure.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and controlled chaos at pace.

Required Skills:

  • Requirements Analysis
  • SQL
  • Software Development
  • ASP.NET
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • C#

Nice to Have:

  • Experience integrating Azure AI Services or OpenAI APIs.
  • Exposure to Python, particularly in AI or data-driven contexts.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code tools (e.g., Webflow) for rapid prototyping.
  • Client-facing experience presenting technical roadmaps and explaining technical trade-offs.

If you want real technical influence, high-profile work, and the backing of a top-tier creative partnership, this is it.

How to prepare for a job interview at Lorien

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Lorien uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
