We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join a high-impact MRO AI Solutions initiative embedded within British Airways operations. This is a premium-level opportunity for someone who can combine deep AI/ML expertise with strong business consulting capabilities to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions across airline operations.
Role Responsibilities
- Design and deploy predictive & prescriptive AI/ML models
- Perform exploratory data analysis and advanced feature engineering
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering teams for model-ready datasets
- Translate analytical insights into business impact and operational improvements
- Continuously optimize model performance in production environments
- Build reusable AI components that can scale across multiple OpCos with minimal rework
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong Python expertise with TensorFlow / PyTorch
- Advanced statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience across ML, Optimization, Simulation, GenAI, and related Data Science domains
- Proven experience taking models from design to production deployment, including monitoring and workflow integration
- Ability to integrate quickly into new teams and deliver immediate value
- Experience in airline operations or supply chain analytics is highly desirable
- Willingness for initial co-location with BA teams in London and international travel during deployment phases
Preferred Consulting-Level Competencies
- Strong executive communication and storytelling skills
- Experience in transformation or consulting-led engagements
- Track record of delivering measurable business outcomes
