We are currently recruiting for a software engineer with Pricing / Underwriting experience to join one of our Global Insurance clients on a 12-month contract Inside IR35 - Hybrid.

Responsibilities:

  • Sits within the Risk Rating & Pricing team.
  • This role will support the internal development of the Risk Rating & Pricing team, made up of actuaries with domain expertise and software engineers, who manage the development of products in various pricing systems.
  • Creating, deploying and managing the process for new product specifications to be developed in pricing systems.
  • Updating and managing the process for changes to product specifications for implemented pricing system products.
  • Configuration of pricing system products including the drafting of documents, development of user interfaces, workflow tools and broker portals.
  • Working with stakeholders to elicit, document, configure and test requirements.
  • Managing and maintaining the quality of data at each stage in the underwriting and reporting process.

Experience:

  • Experience of configuring pricing system products previously and/or experience of writing, testing and developing within a programming language such as XML, C++, Python and R or similar would be equally useful.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders to translate and prioritise business requirements into technical solutions is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of technology in product development is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of full project lifecycle in a structured environment would be an advantage.
  • Strong writing skills to produce comprehensive and accurate documentation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft technologies.
  • The role would be suitable for someone with a technical degree or background in computing or a STEM subject (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
