About the company
Our client is a well-established, international business operating in a highly regulated environment, where protecting sensitive client information is central to how they operate. They have a strong reputation, a collaborative culture and a genuine commitment to investing in their technology and security capability. This is a place where security is taken seriously at the very top, and where the security team is trusted and listened to.
About the role
This is a pivotal Security Architect position within the firm’s Security & Architecture team. You will become the go-to expert for all things cyber security, owning the technology security strategy and shaping how the firm designs, builds and protects its environment across on-premise, cloud and hybrid platforms. You will own security design from strategy and roadmap right through to delivery, and you will also take ownership of the firm’s AI security architecture and governance framework, which is a rare chance to shape how a regulated organisation adopts AI safely. Day to day you will work closely with colleagues in Information Security, Legal and Compliance, giving practical technical advice and solutions that people can actually use.
Why this role will appeal to you
Plenty of architect roles tell you to advise on strategy, this one lets you own it. You will have real influence at the top of the organisation, and the decisions you make will directly shape how the firm operates for years to come. You will also be working on some of the most interesting problems in security right now. Building an AI security and governance framework from the ground up is something very few architects get to do, and doing it in a regulated, global environment makes it even more valuable for your career. You will work across a modern Microsoft-led stack with genuine scope to design and improve, rather than just maintain what already exists. Add to that a collaborative team, visibility across the business, a competitive salary and a London base, and this is a role where you can make a visible impact and be recognised for it.
What you will bring
- Proven experience as a Security Architect, ideally 5 to 10 years in a similar role, with a track record of owning security design from strategy through to delivery
- Strong grounding in security fundamentals and architecture, including roadmaps, standards, reference architectures and design reviews
- Deep identity and access management experience, including Entra ID and privileged access management
- Secure Azure architecture experience, alongside a good understanding of Zero Trust and secure access models such as SASE/SSE
- Data protection experience, including data classification and data loss prevention, ideally with Microsoft Purview
- Hands-on exposure to AI security and governance within an Azure environment
- Working knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, GDPR and NIS2, and the ability to apply them in real designs
- Strong threat modelling and security design review skills
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships and influence at all levels
- Experience in financial services, legal or another highly regulated sector is a bonus
