A well known insurance company is looking for a Treasury Assistant to join its EMEA Treasury Operations team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in finance operations or banking platforms who is looking to build their career within a large, complex financial services environment

About the Role

Treasury plays a critical role in supporting the wider business by ensuring clients, brokers, and suppliers are paid accurately, efficiently, and on time. As a Treasury Assistant, you will be a key part of the day-to-day treasury operations, working closely with internal stakeholders and external banking partners.

You will gain exposure to a large international insurance group with a complex legal entity and regulatory structure, while developing strong operational and technical finance skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process manual payments, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and verified in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Maintain and administer the Treasury payment log and approval rota for the wider finance organisation.
  • Upload BACS, ThruPay, and SEPA payment files across multiple banking platforms.
  • Develop an understanding of the EMEA legal entity structure and associated regulatory payment requirements across more than 300 bank accounts.
  • Support daily intercompany cash transfers, ensuring funds are available in the correct account, currency, and timeframe.
  • Co-manage Treasury inboxes, delivering a high standard of service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Upload bank statements into SAP to support daily operations and month-end processes.
  • Assist with audit queries and support broader Treasury and Accounts Payable activities.
  • Support cross-training initiatives within the Treasury Operations team as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within a finance function is preferred.
  • Exposure to banking platforms and payment systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads independently.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A commitment to quality, efficiency, and delivering best-in-class customer service.
