Based in Kensington - onsite ½ days a week. 6 month contract. Inside of IR35. My client, a local authority, is looking for a Lead Enterprise Architect with extensive Network Security experience. They need a high-calibre enterprise-level architect with strong security awareness, able to design and govern organisation-wide architecture as they rebuild after a cyber incident — someone senior, strategic, and confident operating across a complex council environment. Our client needs someone to act as the Lead Technical Authority / Lead Architect.

What the Contractor Will Do

  • The successful candidate must be able to operate at enterprise architecture level, not just network or solutions architecture.
  • Work with the Programme Director.
  • Lead the technical design authority function.
  • Translate the council’s vision into a real, deliverable technology roadmap.
  • Oversee secure system design as the organisation rebuilds after the cyber incident. This is high-level, strategic, and cross-organisation.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Deep experience in enterprise or solution architecture within a complex, multi-technology environment and ideally within a large, complex local authority setting.
  • Deep understanding of:
  • Security architecture (identity, access, threat modelling, compliance)
  • Networks (LAN/WAN, firewalls, routing, zero-trust principles)
  • Proven experience leading or contributing to a Technical Design Authority.
  • Strong track record of producing clear, strategic recommendations and influencing senior stakeholders.
