We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Head of Indirect Tax to lead the delivery of indirect tax strategy. This is a senior leadership role with global scope, responsible for overseeing all aspects of indirect tax compliance (including VAT), tax risk management, and strategic advisory support to the business. You will act as a key business partner, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to support complex initiatives such as cross-border supply chain design, business reorganisations, system integrations, and M&A activity. Leading a geographically diverse team, you will be supported by colleagues in our Finance Shared Service Centre in the Philippines, alongside indirect tax managers based in Romania and the UK.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in indirect tax, with strong technical and compliance expertise
- Proven track record operating in a global organisation (in-house experience preferred)
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret complex transactions
- Confident communicator, able to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders and external advisors
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified
- Strong experience in UK indirect tax
- Experience within the betting and gaming sector is highly desirable

- Lead and deliver the Group’s indirect tax strategy across all jurisdictions
- Ensure effective tax risk management and governance frameworks are in place
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business
Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee global indirect tax compliance, including VAT and betting & gaming duties
- Manage all filings, payments, enquiries, and interactions with tax authorities
- Monitor and manage partial exemption calculations, annual adjustments, and capital goods scheme requirements
- Support group reporting requirements, including indirect tax disclosures and liaison with external auditors
- Oversee relationships with external advisors
Advisory & Business Partnering
- Provide expert indirect tax advice on commercial initiatives, including new product launches
- Support complex cross-border arrangements, supply chain structuring, and business transformations
- Lead indirect tax input into M&A transactions and group restructurings
- Identify tax risks and design appropriate controls to mitigate exposure
Governance & Risk Management
- Oversee indirect tax control frameworks to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements (including Senior Accounting Officer obligations)
- Manage indirect tax audits, enquiries, and tax litigation matters
- Contribute to HMRC Business Risk Review processes
