We're supporting a pharmaceutical organisation in Romford in securing a Deskside Support Engineer to provide on-site holiday cover for a key member of the IT team. This is a hands-on, user-facing role, where you'll be responsible for maintaining day-to-day IT operations across a busy and varied environment. You'll be the go-to support contact on-site, working across office, production, and warehouse areas. Due to the nature of the cover, we are looking for someone who can start quickly and operate independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st/2nd line deskside support across a Windows-based environment
  • Troubleshoot issues across Laptops, desktops, monitors & docking stations, Printers and peripherals
  • Carry out basic Active Directory tasks (user setup, leavers, access)
  • Liaise with central IT teams (based overseas) for escalations
  • Deliver a strong customer experience to end users across the business
  • Support across multiple environments including office, production, labs and warehouse

Technical Environment

  • Active Directory (basic admin)
  • Standard enterprise applications
  • Print estate (including upcoming hardware rollout)

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of Windows desktop environments
  • Experience supporting Hardware and peripherals, End-user applications
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory
