Initial 6 month contract
This role is to work on a contract basis for a large Investment Bank working within their Structured Securities. This team works on high volumes of Securities Issuance Documentation for stocks and bonds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting securities issuance documentation cross asset classes
- Maintaining meticulous records and carefully following defined processes.
- Advising the business with respect to structured securities issuances, legal aspects of structuring and distribution activities.
- Negotiating distribution agreements
- Procuring and analysing cross-border legal advice from external law firms in order to provide appropriate legal advice to business teams.
- Liaising with external counsel in order to outsource where appropriate, and managing the output of external firms through the project or transaction lifecycle.
- Working collaboratively with other team members to manage workload.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Qualified English lawyer (or a lawyer qualified in another equivalent jurisdiction) with at least 1 year of experience of investment banking/global markets, gained either in house or at a law firm.
- An outgoing and robust personality who is capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a cross-disciplinary team/department
- Clear, concise and effective communicator (both written and oral)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work
- This role requires a high degree of organisation and planning skills together, numeracy, attention to detail, logical thinking and teamwork
- An existing knowledge of structured securities and repackaging transactions is desired.
