This Senior role will Lead Direct Tax Compliance and Reporting across the UK, Europe and MENA regions, supporting a large, outbound US insurer.About the RoleReporting to the Tax Director, you will own the end-to-end tax reporting, controls and filings. You’ll work closely with the business and the US Corporate Tax team to ensure tax matters are managed effectively and efficiently. A key focus of the role will be modernising processes through data, automation, and AI to deliver a high-quality, low-surprise tax function aligned to business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the full tax compliance lifecycle: provisions, returns, payments/refunds, audits, and cash forecasting.Own tax reporting packs for management and Group (US GAAP – ASC 740 and local GAAPs).Oversee tax balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and journals.Manage outsourced compliance providers across EMEA jurisdictions.Collaborate with internal stakeholders including finance, legal, and treasury teams.Maintain a proportionate tax control framework aligned to UK SAO, HMRC BRR+, and Corporate Criminal Offence requirements.Monitor and implement legislative changes (e.g., Pillar Two/GloBE, UK QDMTT).Lead and develop a small team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Drive process improvements and leverage technology to enhance tax operations.Skills & ExperienceQualified accountant and/or tax adviser (ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent).Strong UK corporate tax technical expertise with European compliance/reporting exposure.Proven experience preparing and reviewing tax provisions under US GAAP and local GAAPs.Background in insurance or financial services; Lloyd’s market experience is a plus.Demonstrated ability to simplify complexity and deliver pragmatic solutions.Experience implementing process improvements using data, automation, and/or AI.Proficiency with ERP/EPM systems and tax technologies (e.g., SAP, Alteryx, Power BI).Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.The BenefitsSalary up to £140,000 per annumAnnual Bonus c20%Pension (5% from you with a 10% company contribution)Plus an extensive range of flexible benefitsWhy Join Us?This is a fantastic opportunity to join a globally recognised insurance organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and professional development.
