A major UK infrastructure organisation is seeking a Head of Local Economic Development to lead the economic strategy for a large-scale expansion programme. The role is a 12 month contract, Inside IR35, requiring 3 days in the office (TW6).
The Role
- Lead the development and delivery of an Economic Development Strategy, ensuring measurable benefits for local communities, businesses and the wider economy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Economic Development Strategy aligned to planning requirements.
- Deliver the Economic Development Framework within a major planning submission.
- Oversee socioeconomic analysis, impact assessments and external consultants.
- Shape initiatives across skills, employment, SMEs and local growth.
- Engage with regulators, local authorities and business stakeholders.
- Embed social value, inclusive growth and economic impact measurement.
About You
- Senior experience in economic development, regeneration or socioeconomic planning.
- Strong stakeholder management across public and private sectors.
- Skilled in economic analysis, forecasting and social value.
- Experience in large infrastructure or planning environments (desirable).
- Happy to go to the office 3 days per week, TW6 postcode.
