The Role

As a Planning Technician, you'll be responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing a high volume of reactive and customer-driven work, including repairs and streetworks activity. You'll act as the central point of contact between field teams, customers, and key stakeholders, ensuring work is prioritised effectively, delivered in line with SLAs, and communicated clearly throughout. This is a fast-paced, operational environment where no two days are the same, and the ability to balance competing priorities is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule reactive and planned works using core systems
  • Manage and prioritise workloads in line with SLA targets and urgency
  • Act as the main point of contact for field teams, supporting multiple stakeholders at once
  • Coordinate work raised via the customer contact centre and ensure smooth delivery
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers and external stakeholders (e.g. local authorities)
  • Ensure compliance with streetworks regulations (NRSWA) where required
  • Develop an understanding of different task types and manage planning accordingly

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in a planning, scheduling, or coordination role, or a customer service environment
  • Confident communicator with the ability to manage high call volumes and stakeholder interaction
  • Proven ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced, reactive setting
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and adapting to new tools

Desirable:

  • Experience with Salesforce or other scheduling/workflow systems
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics (CRM)
  • Familiarity with streetworks/utilities environments
  • Understanding of Aurora (Streetworks Register) or willingness to learn

The Person
